The funny thing is, almost nobody is talking about chat control in France. Even on r/france (which leans left politically), the thread about it didn’t get much popularity. No mass media is talking about it, just a few pages mentioning child protection, that’s it. Same for both left and right leaning media. I guess the left is a bit happy because persecution is more on the right than on the left at the moment, but this could switch at any time (talking about losing jobs, having bank accounts closed for individuals or groups).

McGill and Concordia are Anglophone institutions which is why graduates from there do not need to meet French language requirements to obtain their work permits. You cannot be knowingly attending Francophone institutions and then asking for special exemptions lol. 

I love how they are trying to frame it as a College Vs University issue when it is about the linguistic nature of the institution.

This is what happens when you attend the first subpar college you get into with 0 research because your goal isn’t to pursue education but something else. 

Ironically, it doesn’t seem like their English is any better either so even if they are miraculously given an exemption from French, they look like the kind who would struggle to even meet the very basic English language requirements for Colleges (language requirements for Colleges are lower than a Universities’) to obtain a work permit.

By the way, the rules in most Quebec colleges stipulate that you have to pass French in order to graduate if you are from a non-French speaking country. They either did not read the rules, or their travel agents did not tell them the rules, or they just wanted to go to Canada and thought they would deal with it later.

I'm born and raised Canadian, my family came over to Canada in the 1700s from Ireland, but my English ass never learned more then a few words in French (my own fault I should have tried harder in school lol).
